This piece has been commissioned by Charles Vernon and Allison Vernon, initially conceived as a Monologue for Solo Trombone, it developed into this long form piece. Sermon and Hymn as the subtitle suggests is dedicated to the search for Peace, inner peace in the Sermon and worldwide with the Hymn. It should be performed with a choral flavour, with each voice having equal importance and presence, only coming out when needed.
