BACK TO SCHOOL 2015! Amateur string quartets and chamber string ensembles are sure to find ample use for this highly accessible, neo-Classical style serenade. The work is highly tonal, sufficiently challenging for young musicians to stretch their skills, yet still a relatively facile addition to a more seasoned quartet's repertoire for incidental music at weddings and other social occasions. What's more, the work is easily accommodated to a small chamber string ensemble simply by having all double-stops played by sections divisi, plus having bass players double the bottom notes in the cello part. A great addition to a school orchestra's music library to showcase star musicians, or to add to a chamber orchestra's end-of-term concert.
