"The pub" utilizes an authentic jig and the "medina quartet" is based on an authentic Middle Eastern mode. and rhythms. Some special effects are use, ie., bending pitches, microtones, etc., and the use of different meters at the same time. This is a great concert piece for university students or a professional ensemble. A fascinating composition that holds the audiences attention throughout. First premiered at the Hayes School of Music.
