SAX SOLO COLLECTION By Joe Procopio "BA DOO BA" is a Blues for Alto Sax created by improvising on 3 notes. It got its name by scat singing the 3 notes as Ba Doo Ba. Greg then lays down a Blues progression on the Guitar for Joe to improvise a song on the sax. The result is the song called Ba Doo Ba. It is used to teach the make up of music and can be found on the CD MAKING SENSE WITH MUSIC BY JOE PROCOPIO THE ARGUMENT is a Saxophone solo for two saxophones that imitates an argument between a man and a woman. THE ARGUMENT can and has been performed by one Alto Saxophonist. It is a challenge but possible - providing the artist can play harmonics for the higher sounding sax and can darken the tone for the lower sounding sax. The woman is mirrored by the higher sounding saxophone and the man by the lower. The quarrel increases in intensity leaving the listener to decide who wins the argument. It is a fun piece and is a special pleasure in listening, dancing and playing. It is interesting to note that THE ARGUMENT can be performed by one Alto Saxophonist. It is a challenge but it is possible providing the artist can play harmonics and can darken the tone for the lower sounding sax. THEME AND THREE VARIATIONS FOR SAXOPHONE ALONE This masterful work premiered at The World Congress Of Saxophones by the internationally known artist Dr. James Stoltie.
