About the composer
Simei Monteiro was born in Belém, state of Pará, northern region of Brazil. Graduated in Music, Degree in Letters, Bachelor in Sacred Music. She was a professor of Himology. She studied at ISEDET, in Buenos Aires, studying Music and Theology under the guidance of Pablo Sosa, Homero Perera and other professors. She has a degree in Music Education and studied Composition and Conducting. Master in Science of Religion, in the area of Theology and History. She is the author of poems and hymns published in several hymnals in Brazil and abroad. She also published "O Cantico da Vida", her master's thesis. Until 2010 she was a missionary for The United Methodist Church (UMC-USA) serving in Geneva, Switzerland, with the WCC, as a Worship Consultant. As a researcher on the life and work of Charles Wesley, she organized the hymnal Mil Vozes para Celebrar, published in 2018 by Editora Angular.

Simei Monteiro nasceu em Belém, estado do Pará, região norte do Brasil. Formada em Música, Licenciada em Letras, Bacharel em Música Sacra. Foi professora de Hinologia. Estudou no ISEDET, em Buenos Aires, cursando Música e Teologia sob a orientação de Pablo Sosa, Homero Perera e outros professores. É Licenciada em Educação Musical, e cursou Composição e Regência. Mestre em Ciências da Religião, na área de Teologia e História. É autora de poemas e hinos publicados em vários hinários no Brasil e no exterior. Publicou também "O Cântico da Vida", sua tese de mestrado. Até 2010 foi missionária da United Methodist Church (UMC-USA) servindo em Genebra, Suíça, junto ao CMI, como Consultora para o Culto. Como pesquisadora da vida e obra de Charles Wesley organizou o hinário Mil Vozes para Celebrar, publicado em 2018 pela Editora Angular.
