Saint Patrick Alleluia by Stephen McManus 4-Part - Sheet Music

By Stephen McManus
Cantor, congregation, (SATB choir), organ (trumpet, percussion)

SKU: C5.3151

Composed by Stephen McManus. Text: Lectionary. A very singable Gospel Acclamation. Eastertide. Published by CanticaNOVA Publications (C5.3151).

The lilt of an Irish tune is evident in this Gospel Acclamation by Northern Ireland composer, Stephen McManus. An easily-learned Alleluia refrain frames the Easter verse: "The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; this is the work of the Lord, a marvel in our eyes." The piece can be sung simply, by cantor and congregation, accompanied by organ. The score includes optional instrumental parts for trumpet, cymbals and timpani (C, G), as well as choral harmonies for the Alleluia refrain. In addition to being sung prior to the Gospel, this piece can also serve as a short processional, particularly during Eastertide, when much subsequent music might be called for during the Rite of Sprinkling and the Gloria.
