Randall Giles has composed a sensitive and accessible setting of this poetic text for the 4th Sunday of Advent. Written for 3 parts in verse/refrain style, the vocal lines combine the simplicity of a hymn with the elegance of Gregorian chant. The verse rises to a dynamic climax before returning to the refrain, and the piece concludes with a reflective setting of the Gloria Patri. The piece remains in a modal style throughout, and is appropriate as an introit or anthem for Advent.

Rorate Caeli is equally elegant and sophisticated, with spare harmonies that find their true rest in octaves and open fifths. It is a lovely setting in carol form, with its winning refrain opening, closing and separating two stanzas. - AAM Journal.
