Bassist Robbie Gordon worked as co-producer and songwriter for Gil Scott Heron's band "Amnesia Express" and had also made a name for himself worldwide as producer of the famous London acid jazz label. In addition to his collaboration with Gil Scott Heron, Robbie Gordon has also worked with the Brand New Heavies, the James Taylor Quartet and Johnny Thunders. "Still Growing" is Robbie's highly danceable debut album, featuring both vocal tracks and instrumentals. The album features an all-star line-up including vibraphonist and keyboardist Maxton Beesley Jr. who has played with the Young Disciples, Brand New Heavies, Monie Love, Omar and Mica Paris amongst others. Reedist Mike Smith is known for his work with the Brand New Heavies and Jamiroquai. Yebga Likoba on saxophone has played with Gil Scott Heron and Don Pullen. Keyboardist Erique Dial has worked with Stevie B., Raze and Ten City. ''Put on your dancing shoes and off to the record store!'' (Ãœberblick, 10/93).
