This Spiritual was "discovered" after the end of the American Civil War by scholars documentating the reclamation by freed slaves of abandoned plantations on the coastal islands of South Carolina.
Keys: C, D Time: 3 minutes Notes: Written in swing 4/4 time. Each melodic lick is considered a mini-solo with call and response creating a conversation between instruments. Don't be afraid to slide into stressed pitches and if you're comfortable improvising, go for it!
