This unique waltz is a great way to introduce sections of the orchestra to the audience with a piece designed for beginning players. Optional narration text is included, intended to be spoken by a narrator, engaging the audience. What better way to raise arts awareness than by cleverly demonstrating the way an orchestra works?.
Presenting the Strings is a very easy composition designed to feature each section of a beginning string orchestra. Each section has its own melody. The viola melody is heard at m. 13. The basses and celli play their melody at m. 33. The violins enter with their melody at m. 53, while the other two sections perform their melodies again in counterpoint. This composition may be performed as a straightforward concert piece or as an educational lecture for a young audience. The announcements indicated in the score are optional. If used, they can be spoken by the players or by another individual.Thank you for choosing this composition. I hope your students and audience will find it instructive and enjoyable.
