Prelude for Orchestra. Composed by Giacomo Puccini. Arranged by Jos van de Braak. Baton Music orchestral series. Full score. Baton Music #BM1202-SCORE. Published by Baton Music (BF.BM1202-SCORE).In 1876 Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924) composed his ‘Preludio in Mi minore’ which became later known as the ‘Preludio a Orchestra’. It’s Puccini’s first surviving work and through its original treatment of form and the conscious use of orchestral colors, it allows a glimpse of the composer who would later become a master of the operatic stage. Dutch arranger Jos van de Braak transcribed this ‘Preludio a Orchestra’ for a Symphonic Band.
