Pictures from Buffalo was inspired on the scenic view of three small landmarks of the City of the Good Neighbors (Buffalo, NY). This piece has three movements for solo trumpet and accompaniment (of percussion and strings) with colorful sticky melodies and exciting rhythmic patterns to produce a great experience for the listener. The use of timpani represents the traditions of classical music. The use of the drum set represents the American pop music tradition and the Latino’s clave 3-2 rhythmic pattern represents the Hispanic heritage of the composer.
