The Piece was commissioned by members of the NY Philaharmonic. the piece was commissioned by memebers with great appreciation from the New York Philaharmonic as a gift to Mr. Campbell in recognition of his wonderful support and tireless work on their behalf. It was premiered in September 1999 at a party in honor of Mr. Campbell by Phillip Smith, trumpet, William Kuyper, horn, and David Finlayson, trombone.
