I have taken selected themes from Zygmunt Noskowski's piano Scherzo and created an Instrumental Quartet in three sections, with each section being a bit louder and fuller, yet always still petit or light (sempre leggiero). I have named it Petit Allegretto, both as a stylistic classical music descriptor, and also as a play on the ballet term since I have written it with many characteristics of that form. It is in 3/4 with 2 bar phrases. Each section is 8 bars, repeated. 3 page score, 1 page parts 1:15 minutes
