The piece gre out of a discuuss in World Music Class and I was thinking of somehow using the drumming with a Jazz band,
Kpanlogo drumming was developed by young people as part of the celepration of Ghana's independance from Britian in the mid 19540's. Kpanlogo refers to dancing as well as the drumming.
The piece is geared towards an intermediate jass ensemble and features the brass section. It ha s been alot of mine for the band to perform and has challenged even experianced drummers.
I would suggest exploring the culture of Ghand and the Ga .
