SKU: A0.1663137
Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. This edition: audio, pdf, streaming. Folk, Holiday, Multicultural, Patriotic, Sacred, World. Score. 6 pages. Sharon Wilson #1229158. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.1663137).
Here is a flowing, patriotic piano solo arrangement of the English folk hymn AMERICA combined with "I Vow to Thee, My Country" by Gustav Holst (an excerpt taken from the "Jupiter" movement of his 1917 suite "The Planets"). This medley is an excellent choice for church worship services and other performances to encourage the patriotic spirit around national holidays or any time of year to pay tribute to veterans and other heroes of American history.
The last verse of AMERICA has especially meaningful lyrics:
"Our fathers' God, to thee,
Author of liberty,
To thee we sing;
Long may our land be bright
With freedom's holy light;
Protect us by thy might,
Great God, our King."
