A new dramatic and original orchestration of Bach's famous organ work. There is a wide range of textures from epic organ-like tuttis to intimate chamber groupings. This arrangement for band is full of striking colourful touches, with many solo lines for each section, including voices in the band that can get overlooked such as alto clarinet and baritone saxophone. The arrangement also calls for two sets of timpani.
The scoring includes ad lib. parts for organ (directors/conductors are highly encouraged to include an organ in performance), and bass saxophone where one is available.
