Pasodoble Venezolano (or Venezuelan Pasodoble) is a vibrant piece composed in 2009. It was originally destined for a Symphonic Orchestra it has two different but complementary sections, each with its own character. The first section is a fanfare by way of introduction. The second section is the Pasodoble itself with the typical Andalusian cadence or Phrygian cadence (bVII-bVI-V7). Pasodoble is a folk traditional dance from Spain that arrived in Venezuela and took on a local character. I present the String Quartet version to you for the first time.
