The idea of ‘Pandora’ came from the Greek myth, Pandora’s Box. It was said in the Greek mythology that the King of Gods, Zeus, created the first woman in Earth, Pandora, and gave her a container to take care of. The container contained sickness, death, and different evils that were supposed to pose danger to the world. With the urge of curiosity, Pandora eventually opened the box and released the evils to the world. Although she managed to close it to correct her doings, the evils were still released and haunted the world. The myth led to a phrase, ‘to open the Pandora’s box’, which represents the desire and urge to solve mysteries, and that such thoughts might lead to negative consequences. This composition was inspired by this story, with the theme of human’s desires against rationality.
