A terrific overture by the Danish composer Frederic (or Friedrich) Kuhlau. He is best known for his piano works, but his orchestral compositions are inventive and beautifully crafted. This piece works really well as a piece for concert band and loses nothing of the original character. Print the parts double-sided, including any title pages, and the turns will work.
