In this piece the brass section takes a leading role with introducing the themes while the woodwinds have the role of enhancing and adding to them with a subtle intervention. The initial fanfare foretells the birth of a new life whereas the choral is a hymn to life. Despite being an overture, where the rhythm is quite precise and vibrant, there is also room for more melodic and intimate moments. At the end, some of the themes heard earlier reappear, thus closing the circle.
