Our Lord is Risen was commissioned by Judith Shawe for a small vocal ensemble she runs in Porthcawl, Wales. All five anthems are derived from one motif (a fuller description of the music is included in the score). The anthems can be performed as one long piece or extracted and performed individually. Scored for SAB they are ideal for smaller church choirs with a limited number of male singers.
