Once Upon a Time in the West is a 1968 film directed by Sergio Leone. It is an epic Italian western produced by Paramount Pictures and starring Charles Bronson, Claudia Cardinale, Henry Fonda and Jason Robards. The screenplay was written by Leone and Sergio Donati, from a story created by Leone, Bernardo Bertolucci and Dario Argento. The widescreen cinematography was by Tonino Delli Colli and the acclaimed film score was by Ennio Morricone. It is the first episode of Leone's Time Trilogy, which will continue with Giù la testa (1971) and Once Upon a Time in America (1984).
