- INSTRUCTIONS - In treble Barbershop ensembles, SSAA is referred to as Tenor, Lead, Baritone, Bass. The Treble clef has the two upper voices, the bass clef the two lower voices. Treble clef is sung as read, Bass clef is written an octave lower than voices ( as notedon the music).
* EASY READING HINT ! - The note stem directions never change. ! Makes reading a breeze !
Example - In the treble clef, if you are a 'Tenor", your stems will always go up, a Lead always down. In the Bass clef, the 'baritone' stems go up, the bass stems always down.
