Published by Homco/Crinion (A0.1573390).Chopin's Opus 9 Nocturnes are a set of 3 "night pieces" written for solo piano in 1831-32. This 2nd Nocturne is originally written in the key E-flat Major, but this String Duo arrangement has been changed to the key of C-Major. The legato melody has been modified to float between the violin and the cello, and the ornamentation is not quite as elaborate as that in the piano version. This ethereal waltz is often considered Chopin's most famous composition.
