My Song (This Song of Mine) is a colourful setting of the beautifully spiritual poem by the Bengali poet, philosopher and thinker Rabindranath Tagore. Beginning ‘This song of mine will wind its music around you, my child, like the fond arms of love’ it sings of the all-encompassing power of music through birth, life, love, and death, and is matched by undulating melodies, gentle harmonies, and freely expressive rhythm.
My Song is a movement from Alan Bullard’s cantata Endless Song, for SATB choir and strings (quartet, quintet, or orchestra), or piano (Colne Edition CE76).
