"My Love" is originally a song by the British–American band Paul McCartney and Wings that was first released as the lead single from their 1973 album Red Rose Speedway. It was written by Paul McCartney as a love song to his wife and Wings bandmate Linda. Released on 23 March 1973, the song topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US for four weeks and peaked at number 9 on the UK Singles Chart. It was reimagined for the 1999 album 'Working Classical', placing pre-existing (and in some cases, very well known) McCartney songs into an orchestral context; the title of this album is a pun on the phrase "working class", in the sense that McCartney, despite his elevated stature, still cherishes his Liverpool roots and is proud of them. Featured on the album in a version for string quartet (performed by Loma Mar Quartet), this version has been expanded for full concert band, but still feeling intimate and 'chamber' in places.
