Munich can be traced as far back as 1593 from Dresden, Germany.  In 1846, Felix Mendelssohn adapted this tune for the quartet "Cast Thy Burden upon the Lord" in the oratorio Elijah.  From that, other representations of this melody have developed, such as the hymn “O Word of God Incarnate.”

This piece was arranged for the ATLYS String Quartet to showcase talented and innovative women performers.  The ATLYS String Quartet is an all women chamber group world renown for their incorporation of modern performing techniques and programs music that is both “diverse and intriguing.”.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
