When I was commissioned to write a piece for solo alto and brass band by Anthony Galinier, I felt like like composing ballad.
I felt that this lyrical style would ideally demonstrate the lovely tone fo the alto horn. "Moonlight Dance" was thus born.
It conveys the idea of a dance on an evening moonlight when the soloist has a dialogue with the band before ending with a triumphant conclusion from the Symphonic Orchestra.
