Solid Reference for Jazz Standards
For gigging pros, this Hal Leonard "Kind of Blue" score is a strong reference. Chord names are present and accurate, which is essential. As a transcribed score, it captures the album's essence, but be prepared to adapt the detailed solo transcriptions for a more standard lead sheet or ensemble chart on a busy gig. Great for learning the original parts.

Insightful for Jazz Accompaniment
This "Kind of Blue" transcribed score offers a valuable look into the rhythmic and harmonic foundations of these iconic jazz standards. While not specifically a vocal accompaniment score, the detailed rhythm section parts provide excellent insights into the piano texture and voice-leading. It's a superb tool for understanding the original recordings, which can inform a coach's approach to supporting a vocalist.

Good parts
I’ve gone through So What and Freddie Freeloader. I’m trying to adapt these to a small jazz band. The head is good on both charts. The improvs will have to re-written.

Kind of Blue
I am appalled at how many mistakes are in this book. Wrong chords, wrong notes, wrong rhythms, even duplicated lines that will make a real mess of any structured recording you are trying to do. This is also sold as being a Transcribed Score - not even close. I've bought other Transcribed Scores that really ARE: drums, bass, every background part, and that was what I was hoping for here. This is mostly just the solos so if you buy this one you're still going to have to learn a lot by ear and also verify what is in the book by ear to weed out all the mistakes.
