Obediah Donnell "Obie" Jessie (December 28, 1936 – April 27, 2020) was an American R&B, rock and roll and jazz singer and songwriter. He recorded as Young Jessie in the 1950s and 1960s, and was known for his solo career, work with The Flairs and a brief stint in The Coasters. He later performed and recorded jazz as Obie Jessie.

Ronald Cornett Hawkins OC (January 10, 1935 – May 29, 2022) was an American rock and roll singer, long based in Canada, whose career spanned more than half a century. His career began in Arkansas, United States, where he was born and raised.

He found success in Ontario, Canada, and lived there for most of his life. Hawkins was an institution of the Ontario music scene for over 40 years. He was influential in the evolution of rock music in Canada. Hawkins was a talent scout and mentor of the musicians he recruited for his band, The Hawks.

Also known as "Rockin' Ronnie", "Rompin Ronnie", "Mr. Dynamo" or "The Hawk", he was one of the key players in the 1960s rock scene in Toronto. He performed all across North America and recorded more than 25 albums. His hit songs include a cover of Young Jessie's "Mary Lou", a song about a gold digger.

This arrangement is for a brass quintet with interesting improv licks for trumpet 2 and the trombone. Enjoy!
