It was originally composed in 1979 and is often associated with Richard Clayderman, who first recorded it. The piece has a romantic and melancholic feel, featuring flowing arpeggios and a deeply emotional melody.
Interestingly, a different version of Mariage d'Amour was later arranged and recorded by the pianist George Davidson, who played it in a more classical style. This version is sometimes mistakenly called Chopin's Spring Waltz due to an internet misattribution, but it was actually composed by de Senneville.
