By Odette Bilby. Composed by Odette Bilby. 21st Century,Classical,Instructional,Religious,Spiritual. Score. 2 pages. Partita Music #932034. Published by Partita Music (A0.1347234).

A mournful piano solo in F minor on 2 pages (duration approx. 2'45"). Deeply expressive rubato piece with beautiful harmonies, but ends with dissonant, unresolved chords, the 'why?' question remaining unanswered.

Written in memory of the composer's niece, Helétje Engelbrecht, who died in a fatal car crash at the age of nearly 17. Also mindful of the many lives lost without any sense or reason, and the pain felt by their departure.

Full of heartbreak and sadness, this piece depicts the 'hollow feeling of grief' the girl's mother expressed.

Fitting for funerals and other events to pay tribute to persons who have died.
