It was first published as an anonymous air in the 1855 book "The Ancient Music of Ireland". The book attributes the air’s submission to a Jane Ross of Londonderry. As a result of this, the air came to be known as "Londonderry Air". Londonderry Air is arranged for students of 4th Grade standard. (AMEB Australia/ Trinity UK).
