Composed by Mauro Giuliani. Arranged by Socrates Arvanitakis. Classical. Individual part. 63 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #842540. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1247976).
Mauro Giuliani's "The Papillon" op.50 belongs to a category of quite famous didactic but at the same time entertaining works which have been studied to great advantage for the last two hundred years by countless guitar students, and in which we find some technical aspects not easily found in the works of other composers, which is in itself quite an achievement given the 200 years of intervening publications of didactic works.
The Giuliani works referred to are his studies op.1, op.48, op.51, op.98, op.100, op.139 and the present volume op.50, The Papillon", which Giuliani did not publish as a series of guitar studies but as a collection of 32 easy pieces. These pieces span most levels of technical difficulty from elementary to advanced but the bulk of them is of an intermediate level, and they are all written to the high standard of musicianship which we are used to expect from this particular virtuoso guitarist/composer.
This edition includes two versions of the 32 pieces, in decorated pages of ordinary notation, followed by pages of parallel notation and guitar tablature. In the latter case the sizes of the staves will be different depending on the length of the pieces, while trying to maintain the principle of a two-page view per piece. Blank pages have been included for inserting or deleting ad libidum and printing the volume to paper if this is preferred by the user. Internal navigational links have been applied via the thematic index included, as well as external link to a Youtube video for all 32 pieces.
This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
