The Magic Guitar series, presents a collection of pieces suitable for the first years of study of the classical guitar, and can be used along with a method. Its main purpose is to give the student the opportunity to express himself musically at various stages of his technical development.
In the index at the back of the book the pieces are graded to correspond, in a general way, with the number of years of study. Those which are marked Grade 1 are usually playable within the first year. The other grades can be undertaken whenever the student appears to be sufficiently prepared.
The fingerings given are only suggestions, which the teacher is naturally free to modify according to the ability of the particular student.
A word regarding phrasing: the curved lines over a group of notes point out a rhythmic or a melodic idea within the larger phrase, whereas the commas indicate where the phrase itself comes to an end. Slurs are shown by a dotted line.
La série la Guitare enchantée présente un répertoire pour les premières années d’étude de la guitare classique et peut être utilisée en même temps qu’une méthode. Chaque pièce a été choisie pour le plaisir qu’elle peut procurer à l’étudiant, de jouer à tout stade de son développement.
Les degrés indiqués dans la table des matières correspondent, à peu près, aux années d’étude avec un professeur. Nous avons ajouté aux pièces des indications de phrasé: les virgules marquent les phrases, tandis que les lignes courbes regroupent la plupart du temps des motifs à l’intérieur des phrases. Par conséquent, les fins des courbes ne doivent pas être comprises comme une interruption dans la continuité de la ligne musicale, mais plutôt comme une aide à la compréhension de la structure du texte musical. La liaison technique est notée en courbe pointillée.
