LA CUMPARSITA - fantastic Tango - mixed ability GUITAR TRIO/LARGE ENSEMBLE
For Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.
Derek Hasted writes "This is well-known both as an instrumental and a song and it's a sure-fire audience pleaser.
This suits a mixed ability trio - none of the parts is hard, but the tune requires facility up as far as fret 8. The chord part is straightforward with an easy rhythm, and the bass part is rich and powerful... School students will love this, but so will amateur groups with limited experience.
This version has featured in about a dozen of my ensemble's concerts, and it's always really well-received...
I hope you enjoy this piece!"
This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Derek's website at www.derek-hasted.co.uk/smp lists all his arrangements by title and by "number of instruments", with links to soundclips and sample score.
