Kyrie was originally written for treble chorus (SSA & Piano) for the Bel Canto chorus of the Nebraska Children's chorus as a gift to that ensemble and their conductor, Dr. Z. Randall Stroope. The SAB and piano version was written for Minister of Music, Dr. William O. Baker, and the Celebration Singers, a youth ensemble from St. Timothy of the Northshore United Methodist Church in Mandeville, LA. Ensembles should strive for a timeless quality while performing this piece, which is meant to create a sense of peace through sustained chords and moving piano lines. Included in The Pathways Series.
