Composed by Barbara Heller. Edited by 1998. CD. Furore Verlag #FUE 7003. Published by Furore Verlag (FV.FUE-7003).
ISBN SAL 7003.
Barbara Heller composed the Kartenspiele - II pleut a Paris as a kind of diary during a stay in Paris in October 1994. The initial musical concept was triggered by the (post)card in its role as a travel accessory: small-scale drawings containing musical notation and lines of relation and motion offer a concise depiction of music renderable in diverse ways. Christopher Deli has here recorded 17 of the 45 pieces, eight of them on the vibraphone, five on the marimbaphone and four on both together. In the folio-wing text, eighteen performers state their own personal experiences with Barbara Heller's Kartenspiele. In this first recorded performance of Barbara Heller's Kartenspiele by the jazz-vibraphone player Christopher Deli one can recognize a sensitive dialogue between composer and performer.
CONTENT Christopher Dell: Vibraphon & Marimbaphon.
