This is an old Christian hymn possibly originating in the Southern states shortly after the Civil War. Â
This arrangement for Classical Guitar puts the melody in the treble and makes use of the alternating bass technique made popular by Chet Atkins. Â It is first arranged in the key of G and then in the key of A. Â Either arrangement can be played by itself or they may be combined to make a longer concert piece. You get a folk and Country sound.
