Jeux (French for Games) was written with young String Players in mind. It features a jaunty melody, which is shared with each player, and a sprightly accompaniment. A second but slower melody has some leaps in register to challenge the performers. A Da Capo returns to the first melody and finishes with a short Coda. The choice of “friendly” string keys creates the opportunity to reinforce the importance of scales. Peter Jackson.
