After a beautiful rubato brass introduction, this straight-eighth note style piece unfolds with strong melodic development. It features a piano solo and a tenor saxophone solo over a Brazilian partido alto groove. The piece includes a very sensitive section in the middle, and a dramatic ending with the trumpets, trombones, and saxes playing in a round. Lead trumpet to high C. 5 (sattb), 4,4,G,P,B,D.
