"Song of the Jellicles" (from "Old Possum's book of practical cats")
Originally it was intended for choir, but the estate of T S Eliot
would not let me use the poem itself as a choral piece.
However, they did allow me to use the word "Jellicle" in my instrumental titles.
Each version follows the rhythms of the T S Eliot poem, but with more ornamentation
than my original choral version.
In the autumn of 2019 the Mount St Mary's University Flute Ensemble, directed by Jennifer Witt, performed it at a concert
so this is their performance.
