I was falling in love, but I knew that he was going to leave to return to his home country. One Sunday afternoon, I sat down and started scribbling lyrics, and within 45 minutes had a song. That evening, instead of watching Downton Abbey, I sat down at the piano and started noodling. Thirty minutes latter I had a melody and harmony. The muses had whispered powerfully that day. This was my first attempt at something other than sacred choral and solo music. I'm happy with it.
