"It Came Upon a Midnight Clear" is a poem and Christmas carol written by Edmund Sears in 1849, pastor of the Unitarian Church in Wayland, Massachusetts. Sears' lyrics are set to "Carol," composed by Richard Storrs Willis in 1850.  This arrangement features an SATB choir that each part comes in at different times and sing together after the instrumental interlude by the flute/violin, and starts with the piano imitating Christmas bells.
