"In Too Deep" was written by Jacob Collier and was featured as a studio release on Jacob’s Djesse vol. 3 album. This transcription, however, is based on the CBS This Morning live solo rendition (aired during the pandemic) where we can clearly hear and see what is being played on a single guitar. This transcription is for 6-string tuned to DAEGAD, but can be played on the custom 5-string Taylor guitar (DAEAD) simply by ignoring the notated 3rd/G string. It is complete with chord diagrams, fingerings, tablature, and study notes.

This guitar transcription is primarily intended as a chordal and rhythmic guide to the song, making it more accessible, no matter what your level of playing is. Since it is based on a live performance without any consistent or signature fingerpicking pattern throughout, and because Jacob doesn't play anything exactly the same way twice, the tablature is not a note-for-note fingerstyle arrangement of the fingerpicking vs. strumming pattern. However, it does include notable pattern variations and all of the melodic interludes. This frees you up to adapt it to your level of playing, whether you're a strummer or fingerpicker.
