Published by Wesley Carroll (A0.1111432).This is a beautiful, and stirring arrangement of Gustav Holst's tune to In The Bleak Midwinter, for small to medium sized brass band or ensemble. Original scored for a small brass band parts are included in various transitions and clefs to ensure flexibility, including concert pitch, treble and bass clef parts and Eb and F horns. The piece consists of 3 settings of the melody, the first for solo part 4, originally Euphonium. The second verse keeps the melody in Part 4, now joined by Parts 2,3 and 5. There is a transition that builds up to a stirring final presentation of the tune for the full on ensemble, before a quieter coda concludes the piece. The piece would be suitable for use in a wide variety of Christmas Carol concerts and events in the holiday season.
