It begins dulci (quietly) gradually building to the final stanza in which the Tenors and Basses sing the melody while the Sopranos and Altos accompany them with an angelic chorus that can be sung in either 3 or 4-part harmony. The text is the original macaronic text alternating between Latin and German phrases. Translations of the Latin phrases are found on the final page. A separate piano part is provided.
