Il calore di tre risaie Concert Band - Sheet Music
Commissioned by Sanda Gakuen Band for their 50th Annual Concert. The title, Il calore di tre risaie, means "heat of three rice fields" in Italian. I was honored to receive this commission, and in return, I sought to aptly celebrate the Sanda Gakuen Band. In fact, Mr. Takata, the director, was my senior at university, and we had frequent contact with each other both as students and after graduation. Whenever I see him, I sense his great enthusiasm; I know of no one like him. I used this title as a shout-out to a passionate director and his players. I ask your judgment whether this piece meets that demanding criteria. (Chang Su Koh)
