This charming piece featured on the playlist of Hampshire Guitar Orchestra (www.hago.org.uk) for a long while!

The soft sounds of the classical guitar go some way to capturing the opening of the original with its distant horn sounds, and the music fits the sweet sound of the guitar, with the arpeggiated accompaniment emulating a gentle percussion.

The top part ventures occasionally onto the body of the guitar, but the pace is slow and relaxed. The other parts have interesting rhythm patterns but are a little easier, making the piece ideal for a mixed ability quintet or large ensemble.
